QEW | St. Catharines Widening of the QEW through the city of St. Catharines. The project involves reconstructing and widening of the QEW from four to six lanes from west of Seventh St. to the west side of the Garden City Skyway, in the City of St. Catharines. Identified as the largest MTO Construction project to date, the work includes widening or replacement of eight structures, median tall wall barrier, median storm drainage system and SWM facilities, Advanced Traffic Management System, retaining walls, high mast lighting and landscaping. The $150 Million project is staged over five years.
